Karl
Usami is Chief Executive Officer of Tyr Energy, Inc. and all
Tyr investment subsidiaries including Tyr Capital, LLC. He
is responsible and accountable for overall business strategy
development and execution for the organization, which is based
on investment in asset acquisition and development projects.
Mr. Usami brings a strong personal commitment to partner relationships
and value enhancement to lead the Tyr organization in maximizing
its shareholders' value and delivering that value to
financial owners.
Prior
to his current CEO position, Mr. Usami was Director, Power
Projects at ITOCHU International Inc. in New York, New York.
He brings to Tyr over 15-years management experience in business
and project development and implementation of business strategy.
Such experience includes capital investment in Orion Power
Holdings, Inc. with Goldman Sachs and Constellation Energy
Group; and project development at Diamond Energy, Inc. (currently
Diamond Generating, Inc.) under Mitsubishi Corporation.
In addition,
Mr. Usami has orchestrated and closed numerous non-recourse
project finance transactions in asset acquisition, project
development, M&A, turnkey engineering-procurement-construction,
and O&M, not only in the United States but also in overseas
markets. Further, Mr. Usami has directed and led the profitable
growth of many kinds of transactions of greenfield development
and asset acquisition in the power and energy sector.
Mr. Usami
earned a BA in English; obtained a degree specializing in
Economics; and earned an MBA specializing in Finance and Accounting. |

Tom
Wertz provides organizational and operational expertise to
Tyr Energy. As Chief Operating Officer, he provides executive
oversight for the asset management, operation services, strategic
planning, process development and reporting for Tyr, in addition
to providing leadership in the area of business development.
Prior
to joining Tyr, he served as Senior Vice President –
Asset Management at Aquila, Inc. where he was responsible
for the overall management of Aquila’s independent power
generation portfolio. Mr. Wertz also led an asset investment
unit, which pursued the acquisition of interests in independent
power generation facilities.
Mr. Wertz
has been employed as Senior Attorney for Panhandle Eastern
Pipe Line Company where he represented the business development,
regulatory and engineering departments. He also served in
the USAF where he was an Area Defense Counsel and Staff Judge
Advocate.
Mr. Wertz
received his B.A. With Distinction from the University of
Kansas and his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin
and is a member of the Missouri, Texas, and Wyoming Bar Associations.

Mr.
Venteicher is responsible for Tyr’s treasury management
activities, as well as the analysis of acquisitions and project
finance agreements. His background includes experience in
the analysis, structuring, negotiation and administration
of various corporate, project and structured finance agreements.
Transactions in which Mr. Venteicher has played key roles
include a $650 million revolving credit facility, a $145 million
synthetic lease financing of a 320 MW power generation facility,
a $270 million leveraged lease financing for a 580 MW combined
cycle power generation facility, and a $275 million accounts
receivable sales facility. Mr. Venteicher’s power industry
experience also includes analysis work related to power project
acquisitions and greenfield development projects.
Prior
to his experience in the energy industry, Mr. Venteicher was
a Sr. Financial Analyst in a financial management development
program with Ford Motor Company.
He was
awarded an MBA in Finance from Indiana University in 1998
and a BA in Economics and International Affairs from the University
of Nebraska. Mr. Venteicher is a Level III Candidate in the
CFA Program of the Association for Investment Management and
Research.
